Since 2001, professional ranter Lori Harfenist has been known as “The Resident” after she started producing, performing in, and broadcasting the eponymous, half-hour cable access show in New York City. The show consisted of both rants on crap in society and on-the-street segments, where Lori harassed passersby about more crap in society. The show quickly became a cult favorite. The show caught the interest of news and entertainment outlets including CNN, NBC, FOXNews, Planet Green, Direct TV, Gawker, Yahoo!, E!, YouTube, and others. They started hiring her to rant. She liked that. She currently is an independent contractor, always on the hunt for new clients and fun new projects. You should check out her new video-print combo series called, “60 Seconds,” which is kind of like “60 Minutes” but a lot shorter. She also rants every night on TV at the end of the 5PM and 8PM news for RT America, an international television news organization based in Washington DC. She works out of her own studio in New York that she built with her tiny hands, where she never has to worry about what pants she is wearing, which is great because she hates fashion and wishes we’d all be wearing those jumpsuits made of futuristic fabric she was promised by now. You will probably agree with her sometimes, and she will probably piss you off at some point. All she wants is for people to wake the hell up to the world around them and to be kind to one another.
